About us
The Ultimate Throwback, Delivered in High Definition.
Love 80s music? So do we—it’s in our DNA.
Our story began when a veteran 1980s DJ hopped into a metaphorical time machine, surfaced in 2012, and launched MusicAntenna.com. His mission was simple: recreate the magic of the big, polished FM airwaves he grew up with and later played on in major markets. What started as a passion project from humble beginnings soon morphed into a global powerhouse: NewWaveRadio.org Today, we’ve traded the static of the past for the clarity of the future. Backed by the technical brilliance of our audio engineer, Mac J., and the meticulous library scheduling of Sabrina C., we’ve grown into a worldwide community. We don’t just play a playlist; we bring the decade to life. With a massive vault of over 3,500 tracks, professional-grade studios, and a polished HD sound that makes ordinary music feel electric, we provide the soundtrack to your memories in crystal clarity.
We are often imitated, but never duplicated. We’ve been the original home for the 80s for over a decade, and we’re thrilled to have you with us on this journey.
Go ahead—crank it up, and tell a friend.
What We Play
The 1980's was a decade that had a wide swath of music represented. The beginning of the decade was a transition point with a confluence of disco and punk rock. Synthesizers were becoming mainstrem, as well as big hair, excessive makeup, bright colors, a tubular language, great movies, and a lot of fun (all of this without the internet). The 80's was not just about the music, it was a culture that was never seen before, and has never been seen since, and this has made the 80's one of the most memorable times in recent history. What do we play here? Everything from the late 70's (like DEVO, David Bowie, and Blondie) to music from the late 80's and everything in between. You'll hear songs that were major hits, but also some tracks that were one hit wonders and others that enjoyed popularity on the alternative airwaves. Having all this encapsulated on one station is pretty cool.
